PROVERB PRACTICALS

Proverbs 20:14,  It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer, but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.

Good grief, we Christians can't do anything! Now the wisest man is hinting here that we have to be a straight shooter when we are bargaining.

We can't even play the games that the world plays in the market. I thought it was "When in Rome do as the Romans do."

Can't we just put a parenthesis in our Christian life when we have a big purchase like a car?

Can't we take a vacation from our testimony when it will result in such a great benefit to us and with the savings give us a greater ability to give to the cause of Christ?

What about it?

Do you maintain your Christian testimony when you buy a used car?

Or do you put on your buyers face? That false face designed to get you the best bargain.

Do you change your way in order to get the best deal? Do you play the games that buyers play when you are in a bargaining situation?

Of course, everybody does, don't they. Isn't it important to get the best price?

Are we not supposed to act disinterested and downplay the possible purchase by pointing our the negatives and not show any enthusiasm so the price will be low?

What about Jesus telling us that our Yeas should be yea and our Nays should be nay? What about Solomon, here in this proverb inferring that this is not the right thing to do for God's people.

The Bible does not lack a single lesson that we need.

When we know what it says, we are then bound to be doers of the Word and not just hearers. Even when we may lose money in the deal!
